Synopsis:

A theatrical experience of Music and dance inspired by Federico Garcia Lorca’s Spirit. FEDERICO G. LORCA (1898-1936)

The Universe of Garcia Lorca will guide this performance into the dances, poems and songs from the traditional Spanish songbook.

This performance shows a diverse variety of Spanish dances such as escuela bolera, stylized dance, flamenco and folklore dance that represents a wide artistic spectrum in this field. The audience will appreciate a lot of cultural Spanish items such as classical castanets, folk castanets, Spanish fan, mantón

de manila or bata de cola.

The powerful music played by guitar, piano, percusion, flute and voice shows the Spanish roots as well as more modern expressions that come from the tradition. This experience will transport the viewer to a special trip to Spain full of emotion, beauty and passion.

Regarding the director or directors:

Since his Carnegie Hall solo debut in 2009, multi-faceted touring artist Nilko Andreas has been entertaining audiences in three continents as an internationally awarded classical guitarist, composer, actor, Music director and singer, Born in Colombia, he carries the musical legacy of his motherland, layered with his experiences and extensive training in cello, classical guitar, composition, orchestral conducting and 22 years of living, performing as a soloist and chamber Musician, producing and conducting in New York City.

He is the founder of the “Amazonas” series presented at Carnegie Hall since 2010, with a heavy interest on raising awareness over environmental damage. He was “Don Quixote” in “The Man of La Mancha” by Musical Theater Heritage, His passion for the work of Lorca made him collaborate and produce many plays

Including “La zapatera prodigiosa” (Spanish repertory theater), his collaboration with grupo “Artificio Theater” lead to rave reviews and awards. he conceived and directed “Asi Canta Federico” and interactive concert around the life and work of Lorca.

He has given master classes and conferences in universities and conservatories around the work. Founder and Artistic Director of the Latin American Chamber Music Society of New York and serves as Artistic Director at AZLO Productions.
