Inspired by the work of Marius Petipa and Rudolf Nureyev, “Nutcracker Dream” is an adaptation of the seasonal favorite created by world-renowned choreographer Carole Alexis and performed by the Professional dancers of the company.

About the Company:
Ballet des Amériques is the first-ever resident dance Company of Latin American Theater Experiment Associates, Inc.(Teatro LATEA) Directed by Miguel Trelles.
Founded in 2011 by director-choreographer Carole Alexis, a Creole woman, Ballet des Amériques/Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization operating a professional multicultural dance company – now based in both New York City and White Plains.
In its first thirteen years, the dance company, composed of dancers of multicultural backgrounds, has performed Carole Alexis’ choreographic work in hundreds of productions throughout the greater New York City area as well as internationally. Carole Alexis and the company have received numerous accolades for Alexis’s innovative work, including government proclamations honoring Ballet des Amériques as the “Premier Dance Company” as well as regular press coverage.
Regarding the director
Knighted in the Order of Arts and Letters in France, Carole Alexis is an internationally recognized choreographer, director, and pedagogue. As a Creole choreographer, Alexis draws on the various sources of her rich background with the effect of breaking boundaries in the creation of new possibilities for artistic expression. Raised and trained in Martinique, Brittany, West Africa, and Paris, she developed her unique choreographic signature in her exploration of themes in music, the complexity of emotions, the environment, nature, history, and human interaction. Alexis believes that art, as a kind of universal consciousness, expresses the infinite possibilities of humanity.
