203

An ample room with tall ceilings and mirrors on the West Side and the original classrom’s slate chalkboard on the South Side, Room 203 is vibrant, sunny and airy thanks to its large windows with Northern and Eastern exposure. When you walk in you feel you have arrived at the set of Fame . . . or tick tick Boom.

Stage

An ample space, the stage was modified by the LATEA founders in 1980’s to address the needs and the aesthetics of downtown theater. Located in what used to be the original theater of the former P.S. 160, the stage is very modular and is typically framed by wings which can be removed for laying bare the broadest possible expanse. The lack of a proscenium (which remains in the original stage, stage right, and is now a bar) makes for very dynamic set possibilities and fast turnaround.
