Locally Okai has performed in the Brooklyn Museum, the legendary African art auction exhibition at Sotheby’s, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall and venues throughout the States. Internationally Canada, Tanzania, Australia, Japan, Haiti and Brazil have been showered with his sounds and soon the rest of the world will.
Daniel Cordani graduated from University of Delaware with a BA in Psychology and an MA in Art Education from Brooklyn College. A self taught multidisciplinary artist, he has exhibited work in numerous galleries and has been involved in art communities since 2000. His painting studio practice is complemented by collaborating with musicians to develop video environments for their performances. He has donated paintings to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, published artwork for Pinecone Moonshine Records and currently has a book out on Upset Press. Daniel began his mission of art as a tool for raising social awareness with the video “Evolutionary Threshold” which was premiered at the Newspace Gallery in 2005. He continues to develop work in an urgent voice that addresses environmental and humanitarian concerns.
