Event Details

Welcome to “LUCÍA, The Modern Hominid”, a new cultural experience– where no child is
despicable! LATEA’s art gallery, located at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center, will host a
pop-up vision from Lower East Side- based artist Phyllis Sanfiorenzo. The exhibition will be an
after school delight, with story time, drawings, sculpture and animation in its rawest truest form,
– frame by frame. (No slick saturday morning cartoons here!) This exhibit is for children ages
five through seven.
This exhibition features a compilation of artwork going back to 2004 when– Sanfiorenzo first
created and cultivated the character LUCÍA, an endearing female hominid from the past. Follow
the adventures of LUCÍA, as she navigates the modern present. Bring your child and enjoy art,
snacks, refreshments and giveaways!
